A free weekly meetup for parents and babies in Vancouver

Beyond the Bump

For Parents with babies 0-18 months

Baby Meetup

Weekly practical guidance, thoughtful guest experts, and a room full of parents figuring out babyhood too. Free for parents and caregivers with babies 0–18 months.

Expert guidance. Real parent community.

Why the First Two Years Matter

The first two years are full of huge changes. Your baby is learning how to move, communicate, connect, and make sense of the world, often all at once. It is an important time, but you do not need to turn every moment into a lesson.

Beyond the Bump brings you trustworthy information, practical ideas, and people who know babies, so you can spend less time second-guessing and feel more confident about what your baby needs.

How It Works

Each week we share with you an important and relevant topic. Guest speakers who are experts in their field give advice and answer your questions, all to support new parents on their journey of parenthood!

  • Settle in: Feed, change, or comfort your baby as needed.
  • Learn and ask: Explore the weekly topic and bring your real questions.
  • Connect: Meet parents with babies in the same season.

Your Beyond the Bump host

Hello! I'm Monica

Beyond the Bump is part of Nurtrly, created to give parents trusted guidance and a genuine sense of community during their baby’s first 18 months.

I’m an early childhood specialist, parent educator, and mom of two. I started Beyond the Bump because early parenthood comes with a lot of questions, and good support should not be difficult to find.

Some weeks, I lead the conversation. Other weeks, I welcome a trusted guest expert. Either way, you’ll leave with clearer information, practical next steps, and a few more people in your corner.

FAQ

Do I need to register or pay?

Beyond the Bump is free. Join the email list so you receive the weekly topic and any schedule changes. There is no series fee or ongoing attendance commitment.

Do I have to attend every week?

No. You are welcome to attend regularly or join us when a topic interests you. Many parents come most weeks because they enjoy the routine and community, but there is no attendance requirement.

What age is the meetup for?

Beyond the Bump is designed for parents and caregivers with babies from birth to 18 months.

Can my partner or another caregiver attend?

Yes. Partners, grandparents, nannies, and other caregivers are welcome. Anyone attending must remain responsible for the baby in their care throughout the meetup.

Can I bring an older sibling?

Yes. Siblings are welcome, although the space and conversation are designed primarily for families with babies aged 0–18 months.

What if my baby cries, needs to feed, or will not sit still?

That is completely expected. You can feed, change, comfort, hold, or move around with your baby whenever needed. Babies do not have to be quiet or participate in a particular way.

We only ask that all changing happen in the washroom at the change table ready for your use. This is done in consideration of all our attendees and the physical space. Thanks for your understanding.

Are sessions recorded?

Some guest sessions may be recorded for private sharing within the Nurtrly community. We will let attendees know when a recording is taking place. The camera remains focused on the presenter rather than parents or babies.

Is the information medical advice?

No. Beyond the Bump provides general education and support. It does not replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from your family doctor or another qualified healthcare professional.
